Questions

Psychiatry & Mental Health — FAQs

When should I see a psychiatrist?

Consider a consultation if low mood, anxiety, sleep trouble or distressing thoughts last more than two weeks, affect your daily life, or if others have expressed concern. You don't need a 'serious' reason — early help is easier help.

Is my consultation confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is private and handled with respect. Confidentiality is central to how we practise.

Will I have to take medication?

Not necessarily. Many concerns improve with counselling and support. Where medication helps, we explain why and use the lowest effective approach.
